BORN OF THE SAME SOIL was made post 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks for 1x1 INDIA, an exhibition organized by The Loft, Mumbai. It juxtaposes the image of the head of Buddha with that of a tribal sculpture of a tiger. Both the entities are born of the same soil, are brother-in-arms but, one is the epitome of compassion, the other of savagery. Both are aspects of reality and are a part of us. The work does not take a 'for' or 'against' stand but leaves it open for each of us to choose which of the two aspects to cultivate within us.
